some things you should know

So I have been keeping something from everyone(Cesar is not included in 'everyone'). So here goes:

Something is wrong with me. And its starting to scare me. For the past few weeks I have been having this sensation like a tingling or vibration or a buzzing(maybe? hard to describe) running through my back, arms, hands, and upper legs. It happens when I move in certain ways, and as I discovered last night especially when I move my neck forward and down. Thats the part that has me really scared.

I don't know when I first realized that this odd feeling was going on. It wasn't very bad at first and it doesn't hurt t all, it's just annoying and distracting. When I DID realize I was feeling odd, I thought, 'well maybe it will go away on its own; It doesn't hurt right?'(I asked to myself).

But it didn't. It got worse. I noticed it more and more when I was moving around the house. When I sit up suddenly I have a particularly strong pang so strong that I sometimes have to stop a moment because the tingling is turning my hands and arms numb. Finally I told Cesar about it and he said to go see a doctor. I hate seeing doctors so I put it off.

Last night I was sitting here watching Youtube and I moved my neck forward a bit and got the now familiar sensation. I moved my neck back and it stopped. 'Ah ha' I thought, possibly the source of it all.

Then I thought okay it's possibly to do with my neck. It is obviously something neurological as well, because of the nature of it.(I think at least) Then I started thinking, what if this is more serious than I have been behaving about it? What it is a tumor pressing on my spine, or a blood clot or something else that could possibly leave me paralyzed? I had visions of me collapsing when no one was here to help me(I'm alone with the girls alot) and just laying there hearing the girls screaming in their room for me and not being able to get to them.

That was last night and the final thought that finally made me call a doctor this morning. I really hate going to the doctor, but atleast if I won't do it for my own health. I'll do it because of my children. I don't know if I could stand not being able to take care of them. They are the reason I get up in the morning(literally), seeing them smile gets me through, they're the breath in my body, the warmth in my days, all that I could ever hope for.

I don't want to leave them alone. So, I'll go to the damn doctor, because they can fix me so I can get back to my life.

My song!

Hey all.

Here's a little something for ya that I wrote. I don't have a melody to go with the lyrics yet, but I want opinions on them anyway, maybe a few suggestions even. I've never written a song before this, but the first verse kinda popped into my head while I was showering the other day and I couldn't get rid of it until I wrote it down.
Anyway, here goes.

Untitled Lyrics Copright Oct. 2006 Rebecca Cortazar

Feels like there's water over me
Like I'm swimming 'neath a waterfall
And the only one that sees
The only one is you.

I'm drowning underneath here
Can't seem to get away.
I need your help to breathe dear
But you stand and watch me drown.

Give your hand to me please
Can't you hear em calling out?
You turn a deaf ear on me
And stand and watch me drown.

Feels like there's water over me
Like I'm swimming 'neath a waterfall
And the only one that sees
The only one is you.

My strength is fading fast
I can't see you anymore
As I watch my life flow past
And I sink towards the floor.

Just as suddenly I realized
All along I never knew
That the only one to see me
Was only ever you.

Feels like there's water over me
Like I'm swimming 'neath a waterfall
And the only one that sees
The only one is you.

The only one was you.

Disney Magazine

Ok I have a question to pose to those of my family that read this:

Did one of you-or perhaps you know someone else who did- order me a subscription to the Disney magazine? I have been puzzled by this since the begining of the year, and finally I managed to snag one from Caitlyn before she tore the cover off of it(the cover has the subscriber info on it). I don't remember ordering it but their website says I am paid in full for 2 years, so something is going on. The only thing that puzzles me is, if someone did order it, why for me? It is obviously a kids magazine(no comments about my maturity please) and we just give them straight to Caity anyway, so why not put her name on it?

So there's my mystery of the week. If anyone knows anything please, share it with the rest of the class!

I'm a lazy blogger

I know I promised everyone to write down stuff from my vacation to Wisconsin, but it has been over a month since I got back, and well if you were holding your breath waiting, I'd let it out about now. Sorry folks, but I kinda never got to it, and I'm not gonna bother at this point. I am going to try and write more though. I need an outlet of some kind to keep me from spiraling down into depression and loneliness(more than I already have that is)Writing is therapuetic and will keep me from picking fights and yelling at Cesar all the time. Been doing that alot lately and we sat down and talked about it the other day, and in the process I figured out why I've been doing it.

Okay enough of that here's something silly:(but I can't take credit for it, Cesar found it. I just think it is cute)

SU How I love thee....

I have been surfing the net lately, in true surfing style: Completely random. This is alot easier to do when you have the coolest surfing tool ever: the Stumble Upon toolbar.

The toolbar is a download you can get for free to add to your browser. You sign up a free account with SU, check the boxes next to what you are interested in(after you download the toolbar of course) and away you go! I have found this to be fun, ALWAYS interesting, sometimes educational, and (I think) the best way out there to randomly cruise the web.

Some of the cool places I have discovered via my Stumble! button:

One Word -- Rachel will like this one. It gives you one word and you have sixty seconds to write about it

My Animated World -- I little something for my gaming peeps(that's you, Bro)

Splashy paint place(Jackson Pollock) -- If you click the mouse while you move it around you can change paint colors( I didn't know that until just now....)

Kaliedoscope - Doodley fun

Snowflake Maker - I spent a while messing with this

People with more free time than even me - self explainitory

Computer Enhancements - hee hee hee hee hee...ad nausium

Spiffy Space Info - Interactive movie about the Andromeda Galaxy crashing into us *dun dun dun!!!*

Ok well, I could go on for awhile longer just with stuff I've stumbled this week, but I won't. Enjoy the sites, I did!

Photoshop

Everyone like my new user photo? I have been playing around with the draw and photo editors we have lately, and I like the black and white look.

So yeah..

So......we got married finally. Just a little civil ceremony at the marriage commisioners' office, but we are(or should I say I am) planning a bigger ceremony to be held in January on the 6th. I've already got most of the big stuff figured out, I just have to put deposits down on everything(reception, dress, cake) My dad and step mom are paying for the ceremony itself so I don't have to worry about that and I am doing most of the detailed stuff myself, like printing invitations. I'm also doing one big thing myself, the flowers.

The one thing I have to lament though is that I found a dress I really love, but that we can't afford. I have been looking around for a less expensive one that is similar, and so far I have found one I kinda like, but I am still looking around though, maybe I'll find a better one. If anyone wants to see the one a really want but can't afford it's at David's Bridal Style # CQ110. Maybe one of you out there has seen one like it that's cheaper somewhere.

Wendy

Yes I know this is a late entry. Major surgery and a new baby can make you not care about your blog for awhile.

Anyway, Wendy is 2 weeks old today. We went to the doctors and the did her PKU test. For those of you who don't know, that is where the take blood from the baby's heel for testing. Obviously she didn't like it very much. She gained almost another full pound since last week too. She now wheighs 7lbs 13oz, as oppposed to her 6lbs 12oz when she was born. She also grew 2 inches to a full 20 in. now. Growing fast! Still can't post photos on msn so sorry about that.

uuuuhhhhh............

too....much...sugar......

I have had way too much sugar today and didn't even realize it until the sugar crash. That hasn't happened to me and such a long time that I forgot how bad it is. Let me catorigize what sugar I had today:

Bought a Cadbury egg for me at Walmart when I went to get a bit of groceries,
Friend of mine at the optical at Walmart gave Caitlyn an easter egg with chocolate in it that she gave me a bite of,
Bought Caitlyn some Bunny Peeps also but all she did was nibble on them and squish them some and then give them to me,
Dad sent us some Easter stuff(toy Bunny Peeps for Caitlyn and a bear for the new baby, chocolate for me and Cesar) and I have been picking at the chocolate all afternoon,
plus some juice that I have been drinking.

I feel kinda bad in the tummy......someone remind me to never do that again.

Wow

I just looked over and realized I REALLY need to update my book list......I'm so lazy, that one is about 3 months old

Oh I'm also currently listening to Frank Sinatra and I gotta say my generation always hears about how great he was, but do we ever actually listen?? I started listening to him a few months ago and was instantly hooked, and come on I usually like rock and teenibopper stuff(I know, I'm sad). I recommend atleast giving Old Blue Eyes a shot guys, you might like him, I think he's great! And plus imagine what your parents and grandparents would say if they saw you listening to him.

The Car( and stuff)

For those of you who don't read Cesar's blog I suggest you go right now and read about the car trouble because it is too long and involved for me to write it all down for you when he already has.

Anyway, on top of all that stuff that happened, the guy took EVERYTHING out of our car. That's right- stroller, car seat base, all baby stuff, cd player, etc. I mean the cd player I can see but the baby stuff??? Who steals from a baby??? That pissed me off more than anything else, luckily the guy is safely in jail where I can't break his neck. Lucky for him that is. I'm kinda tempted to go down there and ask him where my things are, but I highly doubt it would be good for me or that I would get a straight answer anyway.

There is a positive note here. With so many people taken in by him, the owner of the store got a detective invovled and he says we have a good case. I gave him the number off the police report I filed for the missing items as well(he hadn't known about that part of it) and he added that onto our case. The owner of the store has also said he will recompense us for the stuff stolen, but I am kinda doubting that right now. To be honest the only thing I would really NEED back is the car seat base, but I'm not gonna tell him that, since the total value came close to like $400 worth of stuff.

On a similar note. I'm not sure if I have posted a link to my Baby Registry. You know, so any of you out there that actually read this fell like being nice to me since all my baby gear got stolen from my car. I would really appreciate the stroller actually, but it is a big item. *hint hint sis (grin)* And the only item that we NEED off of that is the car seat(it is a bigger one for Caitlyn since she has actually already outgrown the infant one and that can go to Wendy) I can't very well have 2 babies and one car seat, especially when the will be so different in size that I'd have to re adjust straps everytime I took one of them anyway. If any of you plan on getting it for me TELL ME please so I can stop stressing about how to afford buying it ourselves.

Baby Name Update

Alright this is an update on my last entry. We finally(Finally!!!) picked a name for the baby. It is Gwendolyn Rose for those of you who I haven't already told. I think my dad is kinda iffiy about it, but like I told him, she will probably end up being called Wendy(or possibly Gwen) Cesar likes it because he has always liked the name Wendy and I like it because it is unusual(as in not Crystal or Jennifer no offense to anyone) but it isn't an unheard of strange name. Plus it's pretty.

The Rose part is entirely for me, Cesar gave in on that. See my best friend that died a few years ago, her patron saint was Saint Rose. I would have just gone with her name (Cherith) except that Cesar and her never got along, he thinks it's an odd name, AND another friend of ours(mine and hers) named her daughter Cherith when she was born last year, amd I don't like playing follow the leader. Cherith's middle name was Brooke btw, but between you and me, even though she was my best friend, I never really liked that name.

On another baby note it is now about 3 weeks until she is born, but I STILL do not have a definite surgery date!! Hopefully my appointment next week will remedy that. I'll let you know. I do know which Hospital I'll be at though, so making some progress towards the end of this seemingly NEVER ENDING PREGNANCY!!!! I know, I know, I sound like every other pregnant woman in their last month. Sue me.

The Name Game

And we now have about a month until the new little girl shows up and she is alas, still nameless. We argued about Caitlyn's name too, but I'm beginning to think not this much. So far here is what we have:

Cesar             Becca
Isabelle           Maya
Leliah             Breanne
                      Clare
                      Christine(middle name)
                       Rose

         Amielia(Mia)

We are both on the fence about that last one, but if anyone has comments or suggestions please help! Also I do have a registry for the stuff we need for a second baby it is here. If you want to buy something that you can't get online, you have to call the store near us and pay over the phone. They have a store locator link so ask me for my area code if you need to.

Estrella War

As most of you know we are active in the SCA, or atleast sorta active. Anyway we decided to go to Estrella War this year when we missed LAST year's war. So I know this is alittle after the fact but we did go and had a great time(it was last week btw).

We didn't get to camp where we wanted but that was okay, as the people we ended up camping next to were funner anyway. They even stayed in camp one night and we were able to leave Caitlyn to sleep while we went to the ball that was going on to dance (court dancing) whoopie that was fun! I love court dancing.

Most of what we did was sit and watch fighting, hang around camp, wander Merchant's Row-which in actuality was about 6 rows squared-and visit with people from Outlands who I hadn't seen in ages. Much fun was had all around, despite the fact of my back hurting alot from lots of walking. I've posted photos of the event up if you want to look.

I hope I get to go next year too!

UPDATE: Okay I have been trying to post the photos from war for a few days now, but something is up with msn that won't let me so they'll just be up when they sort it out.

A little sister for Caitlyn

So obviously you can tell from the title of this entry that we found out the new one will be a girl. We actually found out the day Caitlyn got sick, but with everything else I haven't posted it.

I'm happy with having another girl. Everyone else thought it was going to be a boy, but I didn't have a preference really. Now the only problem will be finding a name we both agree on.

I've posted the ultrasound photos so you can look if interested.

Stupid hospitals

Ugh.

Just a little bit tired. Caitlyn has been sick for 3 days and it is the first time that has happened. She wasn't just a little sick either. She started it all by throwing up (luckily while Cesar was holding her. heehee) and she threw up practically everything she had eaten that day. We thought it was just somehting she had ate, but she threw up again a few hours later. No temp at this point and when I put her to bed she still didnt have one. Of course then she woke up around one am dry heaving and with a raging fever. Now keep in mind it had only been a few hours since I had checked her temp so I was alittle alarmed that she got one so fast. So of course then came the trip to the ER, where I sat around with her for hours and hours and then they finally let us back to a room and we lay around  for a few more hours when they finally give her some Pedialyte and something for her nausea(which didnt work btw).
Oh great. I could have done that at home, and also oh yeah SLEPT!
So that was fun. The rest of the time was alittle better. I figured out that if you didnt move her around too much she wouldn't throw up, but even so all she got for the whole time was Pedialyte. She was soo sad and pathetic looking!!  She just laid on the couch the whole time not wanting to do anything. Poor baby.
Anyway her fever finally broke last night and she is doing much better today. Even had some food! She is still kinda whiny but I expect her to be all better by tomorrow. Glad we got through the first illness relatively painlessly(for us parents atleast).

Green eggs and Ham

Okay so here's a little weird world news for you: glowing pigs. I thought this was a joke when I first saw it on the lazylaces website, but it looks like the real thing when you go to the link. Apparently the piggies glow green- REALLY green- when you shine a blue light on them. I just have one thing to say:

The things some people do to get in the news.

Sharing's for suckers(especially if you're a lollipop)

We took Caitlyn for her one year checkup and round of shots yesterday, wasn't that fun. Actually it was fun-ny but don't think I'm an evil parent just yet, I'll get to that. You all with kids or a functioning brain know how it goes: baby has plenty of fun playing with the toys in the waiting room(and if you have a good doctor like us there is a seperate waiting room for the yucky sick kids, so no germy worries) and then the poking and prodding begins. Baby is fine at first, probably wondering why they have to be stripped to a diaper, then slowly they get more annoyed at the boring questions from the nurse that they don't understand anyway, and hey Mommy and Daddy are supposed to pay attention to her!
Then they even more fussy as they are weighed, measured and have a nice tape measure wrapped around their head that they can't play with. Then back to the exam room where the little tot is by this point thinking, 'Pick me up Mommy, I'm done with this now.' and is trying to climb up Mom like Mount Everest.( I was also wearing a necklace yesterday and she pulled herself up high enough to grab it and try to pull herself into my arms)
But it's not over yet, the Doc comes in and more poking and prodding for the baby. Actually Caitlyn sorta liked the bright light the doc used to look at her eyes, I think it reminded her of the camera.
At this point Caitlyn was throughly fed up with the place, and absolutely did not want to stay on the table. That was okay though because we all know what happens next is the worst part and deserves some preemptive cuddling. She is old enough to remember the last time though so as soon as the nurse came in with the needles she started to whimper. And this is the part I hate also, because since she is old enough to squirm away, Cesar and I had to hold her still for the nurse, which meant practically pinning her down she was so upset. She got 3 shots this time and turned bright lobster red by about the second one, but then it was done and it was Daddy cuddle time.

Now here is the funny part:

When we went to check out we had to wait for 2 people in fronmt of us, so as we are waiting there is of course, the bowl of lollipops on the counter. Caitlyn got to pick which color she wanted(green) and that lollipop made her totally not care that she was just stuck like a pincushion.

I like to pride myself on such a good baby she is with everything. Normally if we are having a snack or something and I ask her for a piece(or a bite, whatever) and then go 'ahh'(open mouth) she doesn't hesitate to share. The lollipop was something else. I asked her for a bit and said ahh and she kind of looked at me, then the lollipop, started to lean over to put it in my mouth, and then she jerked it back to her like 'ummm, no I changed my mind'. We did this a few times, just to see if she would eventually give me some, but alas sugar has corrupted another child. She wouldn't even give me any if Cesar offered her his lollipop first.
My sister, when I told her, said, "Of course she wouldn't share look at what she had to go through to get it!"

Kush is Cool

We all went out the other night, to the strip, we checked out the Botanical garden at the Bellagio(decorated for the holidays), watched the fountains(twice) which, since I've never actually stood on the sidewalk and watched, I never realized that it was set to music. We also went across to the Aladdin and wandered the Desert Passage Shops. Watched the thunderstorm(the indoor one) and saw an art gallery/shop with the most amazing artwork

This artist's name is Vladimir Kush and you can check out his artwork here. The website doesn't really do alot of it justice though. You can't actually stand in front of a piece, and see all the details and technique, or the true colors of the pieces because the online pics are so little in comparison to the actual canvas. You really need to see them in person to understand how cool they are, but sadly won't happen to most people.

Still, since you can't see them in person, online is not to bad to get the idea of his art style. I think I have found a new favorite artist, sis.

Update: You can't save any of the pics off his official website unless you know how to mess with computer settings to disable the block they have. If you can't do that and want one for your desktop(like me) search his name online and you can find some sites with his artwork on it. They aren't as good as his site and don't have the newest peices, but you can still find alot of his slightly older works to use(they may get alittle fuzzy if you strech them out to fit your desktop though)
